The class focuses on the importance of intergenerational connections, particularly as it concerns millennials and Gen Z. Facilitators are multi-generational and not a generational cohort. A generational cohort is “a group of individuals similar in age who have experienced the same historical events within the same time” (Ryder 1965). The YELD perspective recognizes, appreciates, and respects multi-generational differences. Within this context, the class will cover the role and advantages/disadvantages of technology and social media concerning reaching, working with, and responding to the needs of millennials and Gen Z.
