The class will focus on the philosophical components that undergird the approach to Youth Engagement and Leadership Development (YELD) Facilitator. Prospective facilitators will examine each element in relation to personal and professional beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. The philosophical framework is intended to elicit personal insights which are a prerequisite to transformative learning. The YELD framework also serves as an objective measure for assessing the professionalism of paid workers and volunteers who serve youth. As such, the frame serves as a barometer to examine impact and effectiveness in engaging and developing youth.
