This class addresses the concepts of affirmative authenticity, intentionality, and meaningfulness. In the context of high impact training and facilitation, the role of the facilitator, as a leader, is to be authentic in engaging youth and establishing relationships, intentional in the design of positive youth programs, activities and services, and meaningful because of useful training, activities, services, and programs. Within the Youth Engagement and Leadership Development (YELD) framework, these concepts are critical to promoting positive youth development. The design of youth programs is based on the perspective of the facilitator, teacher or trainer. As such, the lesson for the week examines these concepts through facilitator filters.
